Welcome to Matthew Mason Imagery

I believe life is like a photograph. We use our negatives to develop the positives and when we focus on what's important we'll capture it perfectly.

About Me:

I first studied photography back in high school and what I loved most was developing photos.  Watching them come to life for the first time. That sense of anticipation, waiting to see your image come to life, but sadly it’s that I feel is lost today. Now it’s just click, delete or keep and add Photoshop. Which is why I always make a point of doing everything possible to get every photo right in camera first time and every time.

I starting my first business, age 11, Matto’s Games & Software. I built new and fixed old computers, sold games and software. I had a few contracts with a couple of computer wholesalers including EA Games. Still in high school 4 years later I ended up selling the business to follow other career avenues.

But in early 2013 that entrepreneurial spirit was ignited again and I started Kept in the Loop. I wanted to fill the void I noticed with events and things to do in one simple place.

It started as just an idea, a side project, that  soon became so much more. I grew the business to the point with even more services. Event Entertainment, Marketing, PR, Videography, and of course, Photography. With  a strong professional team in place, they are devoted to helping my clients with all their wants and needs covered in the one spot.

This has allowed me to take a step aside and focus my time back on Photojournalism and being creative with my cameras. For me It's about getting back to Photography where I get to challenge myself, be creative and most of all have fun doing it.

One of the things I value most about photography is sharing special moments. Capturing the raw emotion and freezing in time. Then you have it for a life time. It’s this, that will always inspire me to better myself, not only for me but for my customers.

Having studied business, marketing, event management & photography, this has definitely helped me get to where I am today. I strongly believe it’s also about what I have learned along the way that’s given me the knowledge I know now. Photography is about working with your customers and working in the elements of nature. It’s this that no class room or text book can teach, only time and experience can.

My journey with photography has given me life experiences I otherwise wouldn’t have had. Just like some of the people I have meet and worked with photographing professionally over the years, Aerial, Architectural, Candid, Documentary, Family, Fashion, Food, Landscape, Motor sport, Music, Night-long exposure, Photojournalism, Portraiture, Product,
Real Estate, Sport, Street, Wedding, Wildlife you get the idea.

Photography to me is about being able to tell a story for the ones who didn’t see it. To capture moments and memories that are otherwise lost. I love to look at things and think how to showcase it in my own way. I like to push the limits and go outside the box to get a different perspective. That goes for all styles of photography. I don’t have a favourite type of shoot, I just like being creative and creating the perfect scene for my client who ever they are.
